Vented and Unvented Cylinders
Repair, replacement and installation of hot water cylinders for system and regular boilers.
Overview
Homes with a system or regular boiler store hot water in a cylinder. Vented cylinders are fed from a cold water tank in the loft; unvented cylinders run from mains pressure and give stronger showers but carry safety devices that must be maintained. We repair faults such as failed immersion heaters and valves, and replace or upgrade cylinders where they have reached the end of their life.
Common problems we deal with
- No hot water, or water that is only lukewarm
- A leaking cylinder or discharge pipe
- Weak showers from a gravity-fed system
- An old copper cylinder showing corrosion
How the work is done
- Inspection of the cylinder, controls, valves and immersion
- Diagnosis and repair, or recommendation for replacement
- Installation of the replacement or upgraded cylinder
- Commissioning and safety checks on valves and discharge
What you get
- Reliable stored hot water
- Options for stronger mains-pressure showers
- Safety devices checked and working
- Advice matched to your boiler and water pressure
