Boiler Servicing and Repairs

Annual boiler servicing and fault-finding on boilers that have lost heating or hot water.

Overview

When a boiler stops producing heat or hot water, the first job is finding out why. We work through the fault methodically, from fault codes and pressure to fans, valves and ignition, and explain what has failed before any parts are fitted. Annual servicing keeps the appliance running safely, helps catch wear early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.

Common problems we deal with

  • No hot water or heating, or one working without the other
  • A fault code on the display or a boiler that locks out
  • Pressure that keeps dropping or a boiler that needs regular topping up
  • Banging, whistling or gurgling from the boiler or pipework

How the work is done

  1. Discussion of the symptoms, fault codes and when the problem started
  2. Diagnostic checks on the appliance, controls and system pressure
  3. Explanation of the fault and the options for repair
  4. Repair or service, followed by safety and performance checks

What you get

  • Faults explained in plain language before work goes ahead
  • Regular servicing that supports safe operation and warranty conditions
  • Advice on simple checks you can make yourself in future
  • Work carried out by a Gas Safe registered business

Boiler Servicing and Repairs: questions

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Manufacturers generally recommend a service every 12 months. Check your boiler's warranty terms, as many require proof of annual servicing.

What should I tell you when I report a fault?

The boiler make and model, any fault code on the display, whether you have heating, hot water or neither, and when the problem started. A photo of the boiler and its display helps too.
